More important than reaching the Moon... More important than reaching Mars...

   A brilliant light-source should be at the center of your thought-system. . . for an orderly direction of all the elements of your worldview. . .

   Did our Universe come forth from a "Big Bang" and the explosion of a "Cosmic Egg," as some believe?

   You can be certain of this: A far more impressive explosion of Light can come forth from Jesus Christ, because He is God The Son, that Lord Who created our Universe!

   The "Cosmic Egg" idea is actually an ancient creation myth made a bit more respectable with an addition of the evolution slant. But we can know for sure that the Universe came from the Triune God Who is Creator of All Things! We can know this fact with great certainty.

   Here are 20 stages of intellectual development that can lead you to a genuine understanding of the destiny of the Earth... and your own role in a vast Cosmos. You will surely find these concepts an aid to your own comprehension of the Universe, its goal, and your ultimate fate within that environment.

   1. You can accomplish an ORDERING AND ORGANIZATION of your thoughts that will transform your mind and even transform the often-confusing Universe that surrounds you! It’s a logical process that will convert you from an unbelieving state to the status of a believer. It will convince you that God is logical and righteous in all His ways. But first you have to get a little touch of wisdom from the Holy Spirit of God. Then you will start to comprehend God's long-range plan for His Universe and His developmental program for the Earth.

   2. You can get that little touch of the Holy Spirit only when you come to God through His Son Jesus Christ. Jesus will make known to you secrets of the Universe that were not revealed from the Creation until the time when He walked on the Earth. The Bible teaches us that Jesus opened his mouth in parables and uttered things hidden since the Creation of the Universe.

   One must seek truth and cosmic wisdom through the only door that God has provided for reaching a knowledge of the absolute truths of this Universe. Jesus Christ is the only gateway to enlightenment.

   Only through Jesus Christ may we attain real knowledge and a Godlike overview of the design and purpose of our Universe. Jesus is the only "door" that God has ever provided for us— one can find truth and knowledge and deliverance in Jesus Christ.

   3. Before His embodiment as Jesus, the Christ was already God The Son, unified in a Trinity with God The Father and God The Holy Spirit. God The Son was later incarnated in a human form as Jesus, the Son of God. God The Son spoke to the human race in the words of Jesus, and in so doing, He gave us a gift of greater knowledge about our Universe.

   Jesus is eternally God The Son and the Sun of Heaven. As such, He is then the Creator of our Universe and the guardian of true knowledge. In this present world we find death and destruction, but in Jesus Christ we can find a doorway to life. Jesus really is the only way of escape from the confusion and evil of our Universe. He is the door to truth, and He is also a doorway to eternal life for a massive population on Earth that is greatly in need of rescue.

   4. By adopting a Godly perspective, you can achieve a logical solar system for all the interactive elements of your life and world-view. If this Universe seems disorganized, cruel, and chaotic to you, it's time you exchanged your own microcosm (your personal world-view) for the macrocosm of God. To view the Universe correctly, you must first see the Light of God and put Him at the center of everything. That action will please God immensely, because He doesn’t want you to make anything else more important than your desire to follow and know Him.

   You must realize also that, as Jesus said, “No one knows the Father except the Son of God and those people to whom the Son has revealed Him.” Only Jesus and His Holy Spirit can help you to see the Light!

   He can do that for you, opening your blind eyes and showing you the wonders of His Creation. Then you will finally start to share with Him God’s own perspective on the Universe!

   You will begin to understand His plan for the Universe. And together with the intellectual salvation that God's perspective on the Universe will offer you, you will also get relief from much of the hellish loneliness and bitterness that often results from a wrong-thinking and wrong-acting life.

   5. Jesus Christ is the Sun of Heaven, and you need to put the Sun of Heaven inside your heart! Once He is there, He will illuminate your mind and all areas of the Universe with the bright Light of His Presence. His Light will be radiant in your face, in your life, and your actions. Just as Moses’ face was radiant after he was in the presence of God, the follower of Jesus reflects the brilliant Light of the Lord Christ! His Holy Spirit will be inside you forevermore, making you aware of His Lordship and His Truth... giving you eternal access to His Divine Wisdom.

   One must seek truth and cosmic wisdom through the only door that God has provided for reaching a knowledge of the absolute truths of this Universe.

   Jesus Christ is the only gateway to enlightenment. You should enter this portal, for the sake of Truth.

   6. To be among the rescued, a person must become a believer of God and believe all God's words (His open communication to the human race) as revealed through Holy Scriptures and through God's only true Son, Jesus Christ.

   God will show us mercy and forgiveness of our sins only when we come to Him through the sacrificial death of His one true Son, Jesus. God has made provision for grace (leniency and forgiveness), but He offers it to us only via the substituted sacrifice of the Savior, Jesus Christ.

   7. Jesus has willingly agreed, already, to receive all your preordained punishment, in order that you may be spared from the Judgment fate— a destination in Hell. That punishment is what a person's sinfulness will otherwise deserve. . . and it will be found inescapable. . . at the great Judgment Day of God, when God will ultimately evaluate and judge the deeds of all souls.

   8. Any soul can be spared on the basis of God's own painful sacrifice, by a belief in the salvation God offers through His chosen Messiah, His only-begotten Son Jesus Christ.

   Those souls that are spared will be the ones that have opened the door of the heart and have allowed Jesus Christ to come inside. Through His Holy Spirit, He can take up residence inside you as the New Center of the Universe. . . as a brilliant light at the center of the spiritual "solar system." After that, everything in the Universe will revolve around God in an orderly and logical fashion. The progress of the Universe, and of God’s Plan for it, will from that time forward seem logical and orderly to your mind.

   9. Are you still living as the only focal point of an Earth-centered universe? It’s time for you to stop making this Earth the center of it all!

   Could a Christ-in Revolution change your mind-set. . . and establish instead the reality of a God-centered Universe?

   You can move away from humanism if you so desire, move on to a higher level where you worship the True God, the Creator of our Universe. Do you really believe that Man is the center of all things... the measure of all things? God is the One Who will ultimately measure and evaluate the deeds of every human being!

   You need to put the Sun of Heaven inside your heart. Jesus Christ is “the Sun of Righteousness,” and through His Holy Spirit, He can put some of His righteousness inside you. More importantly, God credits the follower of Jesus Christ with the Holiness and Righteousness of His Son. You need to place Him on the throne of your heart, declaring Him to be “the Sun King” of your life!

   10. The brilliant light of Jesus Christ can give you an "internal guidance system" for your heart. . . and this will provide orderly direction for the "planetary system" of your personal worldview.

   When you put Jesus on a throne in your heart, He provides a warm "sun" for that great void in your internal universe, and it will then burn continuously to dispel all the darkness/ coldness that would exist there without His presence. After that, you will have a logical "solar system" for all the interactive elements of your life.

   11. Those souls who are not to be spared on this basis (those who have rejected God's words, His truth, His light, and His sacrifice) will suffer eternal separation from God. They will be cast instead into what Jesus calls “the Outer Darkness.” They will be forced to endure an eternal separation from God and God's final achievement— the recreated Paradise that will then be revealed as His ultimate objective.

   This will be a NEW EARTH produced by God for all those persons whom He has rescued (or harvested) from the present world. God will populate it with those He has chosen through His millennia-long DEVELOPMENTAL PROGRAM of DIVINE SELECTION.

   12. This is God's final goal— His objective is to produce an entirely different world, a new and totally restructured world that will be vastly superior to this present world of distress and disorder, of countless evils and sin-produced chaos.

   It is certain that the NEW EARTH will be immensely more pleasant than this present one, which will eventually be rejected and replaced!

   13. Our investigation has shown us that a scheme of DIVINE SELECTION is operating here in our Universe. This system of selection is being utilized in a LONG-RANGE, millennia-spanning DEVELOPMENTAL PROGRAM for Earth.

   It is all part of a Divine Plan for the future of the Earth. The bright future that has been designed by Almighty God includes a new world for the Chosen Remnant of humanity… and the restoration of Paradise. God will achieve the goals that He holds for humanity and for His Creation. His desires for His Creation will be ultimately accomplished. Despite all the sorrow and madness that sin has brought into our Universe, God’s objective will be attained.

   14. This calls for a MAJOR SHIFT IN THE WORLD-VIEW that is held by any individual. It truly requires a COPERNICAN REVOLUTION IN THE MIND-SET of a human being.

   You must comprehend with an entirely new way of looking at the Universe— for to be among the redeemed, to be among the survivors who are granted eternal life with God, you must place JESUS CHRIST AT THE CENTER OF YOUR UNIVERSE, in the very place where once YOUR OWN EGO had ruled supreme!

   The Light of Jesus Christ will then illuminate your life and all parts of your “spiritual solar system,” affecting every aspect of your existence and all of the interactive elements. The objects and experiences that formerly seemed to revolve around you will henceforth be revolving, instead, around the brilliant Light of Jesus Christ. Everything will be in its proper location and in its proper orbit. All aspects of your existence will be clearly under God’s control, and all events will be illuminated by the Lordship of Jesus Christ.

   15. How are blind eyes opened and made to see the brilliant light of God’s Truth? By the healing power of Jesus Christ! You need to get the Light of Christ inside your head and your heart.

   The darkness inside you will never go away until you finally allow Jesus to enter your heart and take control of your life. You need to place your destiny in His hands and accept Him as the ruler of your fate. You need to acknowledge His lordship over your life because— whether you like it or not— He is already the Lord of the Universe, and He rules over everything.

   You need to put the Sun of Heaven inside your heart! Once He is there, He will illuminate your mind and all areas of the Universe with the bright Light of His Presence. His Light will be radiant in your face, in your life, in your actions. Just as Moses’ face was radiant after he was in the presence of God, the follower of Jesus reflects the brilliant Light of the Lord Christ! His Holy Spirit will be inside you forevermore, making you aware of His Lordship and His Truth... giving you eternal access to His Divine Wisdom.

   16. You gain an Eternal Life with God when you put the Sun of Heaven inside your heart. You obtain both the Light of Heaven and the hope of the New Earth by placing Jesus Christ, Who in the Trinity of God created our Universe, upon a throne at the center of your heart! He deserves that position and that kind of respect. He was first God The Son, but when born in human flesh He became the only sinless and righteous person who ever lived. Yet He sacrificed Himself on a cross for your sake, taking all guilt and sins upon Himself— for you and for me, and for all people everywhere— so that whoever wishes for salvation might be rescued from the due punishment of sins.

   17. If you will do this, you will gain a new contentment and peace as you accept God's organizational plan for the Universe. . . because you'll be letting God be the Ruler of All Things in this world. . . and in your own life.

   The Sun of Heaven will then reign in your life as the supreme Power that governs all things. The Bible calls Jesus Christ both “the Sun of Heaven” and “the Sun of Righteousness.” When you place Christ in your heart, He will lead you to a new life of righteousness. The Holy Spirit will start to rebuild you in the image of God, making you more like Jesus. You’ll become a brother (or sister) to Jesus Christ!

   18. All it really takes is a simple but sincere little prayer one that you should make up in your own words. The prayer for deliverance and for God's leadership should come from your own heart!

   Some important elements that you might include are:

    1) your desire to turn away from the wrongness or evil of your past life, and your remorse over the sins of your previous life,

    2) your desire for God's forgiveness and mercy through the act of sacrifice of His Only Begotten Son (Jesus Christ),

    3) your desire to know God's leadership in your life,

    4) your desire to learn more of God's truth through Bible study,

    5) your desire to find fellowship with genuine believers.

   19. After accepting forgiveness through Jesus Christ, you must sincerely seek to turn away from evil, to the best of your ability; and you must further seek to gain knowledge of God's will through a diligent study of the Holy Scriptures of the Bible. Also, you must not neglect to maintain a fellowship and communication with God through the device of daily prayer.

   20. This Sunday, don’t just worship the sun, like the followers of Baal... like the Greek and Roman polytheists... like many pagans in all nations of the Earth. Don’t worship the Earth or the things of Earth. You shouldn’t worship nature, as the pantheists and the animists do. The supernatural does exist, because God’s Spirit is above and behind the natural world... and superior to it. So don’t worship the sun and the stars like all the naturalistic science advocates, the humanists, the evolutionists, and many of our modern-day science-fiction fans!

   Don’t go out to worship the sun and stars this Sunday, nor Earth, nor Man. Instead, go out to a good Bible-believing church and worship the Holy One Who is the Sun of Heaven— Jesus Christ, Who is both the Son of God and God The Son. Honor Him, and you will please His proud Father in Heaven by your actions. You greatly err if you exalt Man (Humanism) or Science (Scientism), or anything else at all!

   Jesus Christ is the Sun of Heaven, and He is the Light of the World!

   Jesus said of the people of God that "The kingdom of heaven is like a net that God has cast into the sea, and it gathers of every kind: When it is full, it will be pulled up on the shore, where they will sit down to sort the catch, and they will collect the good fish in baskets, but the bad things will be thrown away. This is the way it will be at the end of the world: The angels shall come forth, and they will separate the unrighteous persons from among those justified by God. . ."

                                           companion of Jesus and his devoted disciple [13:47-50].

   It's also important for all of us to remember this:

   1) WE SPEAK TO GOD by our prayers.

   2) GOD SPEAKS TO US by the words of Holy Scripture.

   So we must try to read His words and His Book just as often as we possibly can!!

   God wants to bless you for all your long efforts to understand this very confusing and difficult Universe in which we live— so let Him reward your search with the grace of His forgiveness and enlightenment!

A Letter From The Author

   One of my favorite heros is an adventurer named Colonel James B. Irwin. He is a Christian astronaut who became a Moonwalker (and a driver of the first Moon Jeep) during the Apollo 15 mission. That was in 1971. His team contained the only pair of astronauts to ever explore the mountains of the Moon. So I'm pretty sure they had one of the most exciting missions of all those provided to Earth's twelve Moonwalkers.

   When he returned to Earth, Jim Irwin felt compelled to evangelize his home planet. He had sensed the Spirit of God with him as he walked about on the Moon, and he was more convinced than ever that Jesus Christ is the Lord of Creation, the ever-holy Son of God, an intimate part of the Divine Trinity.

   The first Russian cosmonaut, Yuri Gagarin, was an atheist who had once declared, after the completion of his space jaunt, that "I did not see God up there." He maintained that he had not seen God in outer space. A little girl who was a Christian, a 12-year-old in Sweden, was troubled by the implications of that remark, so she then undertook to write him a letter. In it she responded, "Dear Cosmonaut Gagarin: I understand that you have flown in space and that you did not see God. Sir, I just want to ask you if you are pure in your heart?"

   She was repeating the words of Jesus, who told us, "Blessed are the pure in heart, for they will see God."

   Cosmonaut Gagarin could not see God in space, but James Irwin did just that. He came back to Earth with a new mission a strong desire to evangelize his native planet. This Baptist believer thereafter traveled to speaking engagements in many foreign nations, telling people he met everywhere about the reality of God's existence. He went likewise to speaking engagements at many colleges and universities, both in the US and abroad, telling the students at these institutions that they needed to wise up, get real, and accept the Truth.

   He frequently told people that "The entire space achievement is put in proper perspective when one realizes that God walking on the Earth is more important than Man walking on the Moon."

   God walked the Earth as Jesus Christ, and humanity is now the beneficiary of a Holy One who possessed the wisdom and knowledge of God Almighty. The Son of God is a Divine Person of the Holy Trinity, and so He shares the knowledge of His Father in Heaven. He makes known to humanity, in His own words, "secrets that were not revealed since the Creation of the world."

   James Irwin saw the mountains of the Moon and realized that his help comes from God, "the Lord Who made Heaven and Earth." Col. Irwin had "seen" God in outer space, because his heart was a lot more pure than that of Yuri Gagarin.

   You can start to see God if you have your heart purified by the blood of Jesus Christ. He offers you a means of salvation in an evil world, and He offers to take you to a New Earth that will be better by far than this one in which we currently reside. He is the Gateway to Enlightenment and the Door of Truth. He's willing and even eager to give you something of immense value, something that you couldn't buy with all the wealth in the world.

   It's free, and it's an offer you shouldn't refuse. But it's your choice.

   James Irwin made the right choice, and when he finally died, he was assured a place in Heaven with Jesus Christ, his Lord and Savior. He is now in Heaven's Hall of Heros, and he continues his adventures in another world.

   There are more things in Heaven and Earth than are dreamt of in your philosophy, O Mortal Man. Come on over to the side of the Light.
